Tell us a little about yourself and your journey in the Indian AV industry

Allwave AV is a 22+ year-old company, regarded as one of the most premier and reliable companies in the domain of AV and ICT. My journey started in the AV industry in the year 2007 when I returned back from the US with a master’s degree in Electrical system engineering as well as a stint as the advisory board company at Washington DC where I had my first real work experience in the corporate world. In the last 12 years, as a company, we have diversified to a range of different solutions keeping up with the pace of the industry and have achieved growth on the profit and revenue front as well as on the team strength & expertise. Today, our team is able to cater to projects PAN India.

Allwave comes with almost 22 years of experience and over 2500 projects.

What have been your biggest/ most successful projects yet?

We have been fortunate enough to work on a variety of projects including many renewed auditoriums, boardrooms, training rooms, video conference suites. And now more increasing in the space of what we like to call as Software-Defined AV. We work with a large number of command centers, auditoriums (private and state-owned), Training institutions, etc. Some of our known multiple projects are IIT Bombay, UBS, Citigroup, ANZ, etc. Our total project strength to date is over 2800+ projects across India. We have successfully delivered AV solutions to over 400+ clients across India ranging from many SME and fast-growing companies to very large multinational organizations.

Brief us about some of Allwave’s major projects in India in the recent past and which other big projects do you have in the pipeline?

We have some very exciting projects in the pipeline with numerous large Multinational companies relying on us for their global deployments (India Projects).

What major protocols does AllWave follow when starting a new project?

We strictly abide by the AVIXA Standards for design and implementation. We are also ISO Certified and all our projects undergo rigorous in-house checks to ensure quality and consistency across all our sites. We also emphasize more on training documentation and after-sales support. This is handled by our customer success team that relies a lot on customer feedback as that is foundational for our continued success.

How do you maintain the international standard for integration in all your projects?

Avixa has been a great platform for us. We do a lot of trainings for our staff, team members. Upgrading our team’s knowledge to the latest standards and technology helps us stay ahead of the crowd.

What are some of the unique or different types of integration technologies that you are utilizing in your projects?

We are doing a lot of projects in VR/AR and many other software solutions including room scheduling, software-driven AV as well as immersive info presence solutions for applications such as command centers, experience centers, digital signage, and collaborative learning. A lot of these ideas are planted by our existing customers and they also help us stay in touch with global trends by sharing some of their experiences of global deployment at their offices overseas.

What differentiates Allwave’s services from other integrators? What is Allwave’s USP?

Our tight commitment and focus towards our deliverables are what differentiates us. We have put a lot of emphasis on standards and a lot of uniqueness in our design is a second thing and important USP as well, thirdly our after-sales support is the best across India. We have many customers whom we have retained for over 20+ years.

What is the team strength in AllWave AV and how many in your team are certified, professionals?

We have a team strength of 90+ and amongst knowledge workers, all of them are certified by Avixa and respective OEM’s. In the technical field, we have routine training as well as (in house, OEM, soft skills) training to ensure that the clients get the best and most professional service for their Audio Visual and ICT needs.

How has the AV industry as a whole, evolved in this decade? And what are some key or noteworthy developments in 2019?

The AV industry has developed tremendously. Some of the notable features are soft codec reliance on asset management as well as faster deployments. Lots of projects demand global standards to be followed and we see a big thrust in following these standards in terms of manufacturers, process implementation as well as in after-sales support and increase in refresh projects as well.

What do you think of the quality standard of AV deployment in India in general?

This is a great question and I think about this a lot. My answers are based on what I hear from customers, therefore, there’s no one right answer. The AV industry is very fragmented with only a few top 20 players who are actually making an effort to inculcate international standards in the AV business.

I personally hope that this will change and a lot of gravitas is given to the importance of quality of system integrator who can get the requirements correct, design it right, install it successfully with a right programming user interface, etc and provide very good training and documentation and top it up very good after-sales service.

This requirement here is to stay up dressed in the industry terms and trends. This is a tall task but we believe that only the people who take conscious efforts in all of these will actually be able to make a mark on the industry.

What are the new trends or opportunities that the AV industry can look forward to in 2020?

I see a lot of good technology coming up. We will see a platitude of solutions right from more 4k - 8k displays, TV-LED, more collaborative environments, and more info presence solutions. We will also see a more simplified approach to deployment. We might also see unique aspects of project financing and delivery.

You have clients mainly in corporate / enterprise and a few in the hospitality sector. Are you targeting any other sector like education etc.?

At this point, we are agnostic to type of clients, we do have a lot more at the enterprise space but we do have several clients in the Indian PSU, Indian Regulatory bodies, Education institutes as well as very high-end private residential (Penthouses, villas, etc) for us the attitude of the client matters the most than the brand, we also have the opportunity to work with very good fast-moving startups and we have learned a lot from companies that are even smaller than us.

Any plans for expanding overseas?

Yes, we do have plans of expanding overseas however plans are currently tightly wrapped because we are still at the planning stage.
